As October continues (I’m so totally digging the fact this month begins AND ends on a Thursday — yay for more work!), I stand in defiance by refusing yet again to post anything horror related. Someone’s obviously a graduate of the D.A.R.E. program: I’m successfully standing up to peer pressure and doing my own thing. Good for me. Good for me. In fact this TBT is radically different in that, rather than review a film I thought I’d help promote a buddy of mine and his YouTube channel which I only recently became aware of.
Today’s food for thought: A (belated) tribute to ‘Back to the Future Day’ and other little video shenanigans.
So the scoop is that my buddy Mike Hallman (who hails from Knoxville, TN) has started up a YouTube channel under his name, and he’s started to take his video edits to some pretty interesting places. I may have helped show him the path when I first showed him my humble little camcorder but he’s been the one that’s actually put the mass amounts of footage we got to good use.
He put together a video for yesterday’s special occasion — how I didn’t realize it was Back to the Future Day until the day of kind of shows you how much I’m really paying attention, and I expect I lost a lot of street cred just by admitting that. That video is what I’d like to highlight, but also included are a few others. Once again I’d like to reiterate that it’d be super cool if you could check out his YouTube channel and give him a few Likes. Leave a comment if you feel so inclined. Today ain’t about me, it ain’t about Marty, it’s all about Mike!
Happy Back to the Future Day
The Final Boomsday – thanks to Mike for capturing the last ever Memorial Day fireworks celebration in Knoxville. What a bittersweet farewell, and I am really bummed I wasn’t able to attend. Either way, the city managed to look pretty sexy under all those flashing lights. Check it:
Soccer Golf???? – yeah, I hadn’t heard of this either. Check out Mike playing soccer-golf. Lolz totes amaze-balls
I Fixed My Motorcycle
Rain Check at Splash Country – so we have this amusement park just up the road (about 45 minutes southeast of Knoxville) in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area called Dollywood. It’s pretty cool because of its unique setting, tucked up into the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Dollywood added a water park to its grounds a little over ten years ago now and has been building upon it ever since. (Thanks Dolly Parton and your millions of
