I watched this again, recently. Then I started watching ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and my dvd player conked out half way through. 😦

So there’s this setting on all DVD (and now Blu-Ray) players that allows them to recognize a shitty film and when one is put in, it should automatically reject the disc. If I were you, I’d get your player looked at since it let the film play. Sounds like you have a defective device. 😉 haha!

I was thinking about this as I posted about my favourite movie props. It really is such an eccentric adventure, love it (the original!)

Ah yeah, I remember reading that post, which was fantastic btw. The Golden Ticket is a classic. Also, the Wonka boat (and even the Oompa-Loompas!!!) was intriguing.
Love this film. It’s actually been forever since I’ve seen it but it’s one I remember so well

Ah, what a classic! And far far better than Tim Burton mess. No-one – and I repeat no-one – can top Gene Wilder. Period.

Cheers Mr Fletcher, I agree. Gene Wilder an absolute delight in this. Damn me for being so slow to getting around to some of his other stuff. I’d love to see him outside of his iconic candy man personality
