I participated once again in MovieRob’s Genre Grandeur for July, where the theme was Dark Comedy. A great focus for me, as I knew the perfect movie to talk about. Head on over now to check it out!
For this month’s first review for Genre Grandeur – Dark Comedies, here’s a review of Bad Santa (2003) by Tom of Digital Shortbread
Thanks again to Reut of Sweet Archives. for choosing this month’s genre.

Some inconvenience to you.
But it was not intentional .
It was just out of giving others support and make some new friends.
I am writing here because i didn’t got your mail.
Hope u can understand.
It was never to offend u .

Hey Shadab, I absolutely understand. I felt bad leaving a comment on your page (you can feel free to delete it if you like), but it was the only way I could get in contact with you. I totally get what it is you are doing, Liking and Responding to people’s comment is a part of the community building process. I don’t deny anyone that, and I wasn’t inconvenienced. I just wasn’t sure who was liking all of my comments and all that and I would rather gain a follower on my blog than have someone Like all of my activity without finding out about me first. That’s just me, I’m weird in that way. I appreciate you stopping by here and leaving a comment but do not feel guilty about doing what is normal for you.I 100% understand, I just don’t work that way. I don’t believe I sent you an email, I did leave you a comment on your blog which I will check out here in a little while. No offense taken, enjoy the rest of your day Shadab. Thanks for contacting me!

No way.
We are leaves of a same tree.
I also think and act to make my point and words clear.
Take it just as a misunderstanding my fellow blogger.
Enjoy ur day.
Nothing personal.
We are good.

Hmmm, it sounds like I’ll have to check this one out. I love love love Billy Bob but its hard to see him in a comic role. But I love dark comedies, and reading your take on it, it sounds like his role is more subtle than I first thought.
I’ll have to give this a watch at some stage. Great post!

I think BBT is a really versatile actor, he can do anything he sets his mind to. I don’t think I’d describe his role here as subtle. He’s anything but. He’s completely abusive, profane, ill-tempered, depressed and fucking obnoxious but that’s why I love him. He’s just. . . such a cock. And he’s dressed in Santa pants!

yeah subtle wasn’t the right word… I meant more subtle in traditional comedic sense. Here he sounds fantastic, I’ll have to buy this one. BBT is one of my favourite actors.

Hey thanks Eddie. It’s a fun one for sure, a different Christmas movie too. I like different. And I love Billy Bob Thornton. 🙂 Also, R.I.P. John Ritter and Bernie Mac. So weird that half of the main cast have now passed on. . .
