As most of you know already Mark has posted the Cast list (well, what I’m going to be calling the cast list, anyway 😉 ) for our upcoming joint blogathon on his site here earlier this week, but just for the sake of spamming your WordPress feeds, I shall post it here.
We would just like to remind everyone how great you guys are for your timely responses and for the excellent responses to this idea! We had to expand our original limit of 15 participants to 20 and that has almost filled up as well. THERE IS, HOWEVER, ONE MORE SPOT LEFT. So don’t hesitate any longer if you would like to be our 20th participant!!! We’d love to have you.
Mark and I are asking that all entries be in by Friday, May 15 so we can sort out the order of them over that following weekend, officially kicking off the activities on Monday the 18th. We’d like to welcome the following officially to the Decades Blogathon:
- Fritzi Kramer (Movies Silently) – The Taking of Luke McVane (1915)
- James (Back to the Viewer) – A Night at the Opera (1935)
- Kim (Tranquil Dreams) – Lady & the Tramp (1955)
- Jordan (Epileptic Moondancer) – Night of the Hunter (1955)
- Cindy (Cindy Bruchman) – Barry Lyndon (1975)
- Carly Booth (Carly Hearts Movies) – Tommy (1975)
- Rob (MovieRob) – Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
- Michael (It Rains…You Get Wet) – Shampoo (1975)
- Mark (Fast Film Reviews) – One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975)
- Anna (Film Grimoire) – Deep Red (1975)
- Mark (Movie Man Jackson) – The Stepford Wives (1975)
- Mark (Three Rows Back) – Back to the Future (1985)
- Louis (The Cinematic Frontier) – Pee Wee’s Big Adventure (1985)
- Renlau (Kaput, Already) – The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985)
- Drew (Drew Reviews Movies) – Tommy Boy (1995)
- Marta (Ramblings of a Cinephile) – La Haine (1995)
- Fernando (Committed to Celluloid) – Casino (1995)
- Tom (Digital Shortbread) – Batman Begins (2005)
- Kerry (Silver Screen Snob) – Serenity (2005)
E-hem. Now, I’d just like to make a few observations:
- Damn, 1975 seems the year to be in the film biz. We have the most entries coming from the 70s.
- This is an AWESOME range of films people. We have films dating back to the early 20th century and even have a couple from as recent as 2005. I suppose unsurprisingly none are from this year, as the number of titles would be somewhat limited.
- When we get the blogathon rolling, please feel free to use the above banner on your sites to help promote the event and your pieces (and. . .well, erm. . .Mark and my sites as well!) 😉
- The above order is not an official order yet, although we are considering doing the posts in chronological order. So, please — get your reviews in as soon as you can and we’ll start rolling with this!
If you have any questions, concerns or just feel like chatting — send emails to me at tomlittle2011@gmail.com and/or Mark at threerowsback@gmail.com!

That’s a really good mix of movies, some of which I’ve seen and some of which I’ve not seen. I’m looking forward to this.

Sure thing Melissa! The genius in Mark’s idea is that it can be run every year so there’s a good chance we’ll kick this off next year as well. 🙂

If someone drops out, I can email you (best email address?) and request that you send me a film from some year ending in 5 and I’ll double check that that movie you’re suggesting hasn’t been taken by someone. And my guess is that probably won’t be an issue 😉 *giggle giggle* *chuckle chuckle*
